Daisy Dance Needlework Keep Pattern
“Daisy Dance – Needlework Keep” ~ approximately 6” x 7 ½” when closed
– Store all the essentials for your current project in this delightful, double-fold needlework keep. Take your needlework and notions with you… to the living room, travelling or to sewing group, in this compact yet pretty organiser.
– “Daisy Dance – Needlework Keep” has pockets for your threads, notions and fabric pens, as well as a scissor keep and two layered needle keep. A larger pocket inside the front cover is perfect for storing a little fabric, stabiliser or your stitchery panel.
– The embroidered cover has the added features of felted wool leaves and double-sided fabric leaves. The double-sided fabric leaves are simple to create and are only partly attached to the panel. This allows the leaves to sit up a little from the background and cast a small shadow, giving the panel a dimensional quality. The cover panel design is also suitable as a standalone project. Simply add a border and frame. On opening the needlework keep, you’ll discover two additional butterflies framing the text, “…and they danced amongst the daisies to celebrate the Spring.” And another butterfly on the back… just because.
– This One Day In May project uses just four different fabrics, a 5” square of felted wool or woollen flannel, one skein of variegated thread for the embroidery (I have used Cottage Garden Threads’ stranded Topic Sea) and one skein of plain stranded thread for the ties ( I have used DMC 926). For my “Daisy Dance” sample, I have chosen 3 Tilda fabrics and a soft off-white print. “Daisy Dance ~ Needlework Keep” comes as a beautifully presented A5 sized booklet. As always, the pattern includes full sized pattern sheets and comprehensive instructions, with an abundance of photos and illustrated detail.
